Not strictly abstract, because of the helicopter, but i'm lumping it in with the series anyway. This shot, again from New Zealand, was at the end of a hard days work on set, the helicopter is one used for the film production, hence the large gyro camera on the nose.

Thanks for the latest comments and well wishes, I'm feeling much better now thanks, and as I mentioned yesterday, I got out to our local beach and managed to get a few nice shots, that i'm quite excited about. I'll start posting those tomorrow.

Additional information

This is the penultimate shot in this abstract series, tomorrow's post has something other than sky in it, so maybe that'll be a little more interesting :-)

Today I got out to the beach at sunset, and although really cold, the light was nice, so I may have some new material to post on Monday.

Additional information

This is the second of the 4 abstract posts and is a sunset shot. Although taken in May, in New Zealand it is becoming winter, so you get the sunset's early in the day.

This is one of my personal favorites , I like the whispy ice clouds and the orange through magenta hues in the alpine air.

I prefer these shots with the light rather than dark theme :-P

"And now ", as Monty Python say, "for something completely different!". This next series of shots are from my trip to New Zealand the year before last.

What blew me away, staying in the southern Alps down there, were the amazing skies we were privileged to see on a daily basis. Inspired by that the next 4 posts are going to be skies all quite different in tone and mood.
